NO INSURANCE SEIZURES | In recent days the Neighbourhood Team have seized 2 cars after their drivers were stopped on the road after being identified as having no insurance. The cars will likely have a date with the crusher if the drivers do not decide to reclaim their cars at their own expense from the recovery agent. Under the Road Traffic Act it is an offence to drive a motor vehicle on a road or in a public place without at least third party insurance. Offenders are liable for prosecution which may result in an unlimited fine and driving licence endorsement or disqualification. The Motor Insurance Bureau (MIB) have provided the following information about the impact of uninsured driving; - Uninsured driving claims add £260 million to insurance premiums annually - Uninsured drivers account for 130 deaths a year - Every day at one person in so seriously injured by an uninsured or hit and run driver that they need life long care To report an uninsured driver please contact us on 101 or via the below online link;
